Laboratory Guideline for the Investigation of the Poisoned Patient

- Abstract: This guideline incorporates the principle of progressive laboratory investigation in the context of care of a poisoned patient and provides algorithms for investigation as well as tests considered essential for patient management, and modification as well identifies medications useful in management.
- Target Population: Any patient suspected of accidental or intentional poisoning
- Exclusions:
- • Non emergent toxicology testing
- • Therapeutic drug monitoring
- • Toxicology testing for other non-medical purposes
