  • Scope: Screening recommendations for low, average, moderate, and high risk patients
  • Abstract: This guideline was developed in partnership with the former Alberta Cancer Board and provides recommendations for the stratification of risk levels and for the use of different screening modalities.
  • Target Population: Average risk patients aged 50+ with no symptoms and no personal or family history that increases their risk level
  • Selective populations who due to medical history (i.e., HNPCC, FAP, IBD, or previous colorectal cancer) are at elevated risk for colorectal cancer
  • Exclusions: None
  • Working Group Membership: Family physicians, general surgeon, radiologist, community medicine, gastroenterology, representatives from TOP and Alberta Health Services – Cancer Screening Programs
