Campaign Introduction

TOP has launched its quality improvement campaign, to work with primary care physicians to improve screening for patients by incorporating the use of a simple checklist in adult periodic health exams.    

TOP is pleased to announce that the Health Screen in ACT10N program meets the accreditation criteria of The College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been accredited for up to 18.0 Mainpro-C credits.  Information available here>>

TOP is pleased to announce that the following electronic medical record (EMR) systems support the activities of the campaign (listed alphabetically - as of June 30, 2008):

Campaign Objectives
  • Achieve and demonstrate an improvement in screening
    reliability methods and
    determine the effectiveness of using a checklist.

  • Increase physician awareness of
    improvement methods

Note:  This campaign does not promote “best” interventions.

Campaign Goals
  1. Enrol 1,000 primary care physicians.

  2. Improve the reliability with
    which physicians conduct/
    order screening maneuvers
    during adult periodic health exams.

  3. Achieve 1,000,000 individual screening tests
    during the campaign.
