ABSTRACT:
This guideline incorporates the principle of progressive laboratory investigation in the context of care of a poisoned patient and provides algorithms for investigation as well as tests considered essential for patient management.
TARGET POPULATION:
Any patient suspected of accidental or intentional poisoning
EXCLUSIONS:
• Non emergent toxicology testing
• Therapeutic drug monitoring
• Toxicology testing for other non-medical purposes
